Vinemark Cellars Winemaker Mark Wasserman grew up watching his grandfather, Papa Joe, make wine in his basement in Ontario, California for friends and family to enjoy. It was only fitting that later in his life, Mark would set out to honor his grandfather’s legacy by crafting wines from premium select vineyards throughout California, including vineyards in Santa Ynez, Paso Robles, Monterey and Napa Valley. Mark believes that wine is made in the vineyard, and not limiting himself to an Estate vineyard gives him the opportunity to source fruit with the best varietal characters. Rather than forcing himself to fit a set style of wine, Mark lets the vineyards express their fruit forward flavors and attributes. By not over-extracting or overpowering the wines in the cellar, Mark is pleased to offer wines with bold fruit, complexity and delightfully balanced tannins.
