Is a set of barrels used for aging and blending successive vintages of wine in perpetuum. A portion of the Solera is bottled each year and then replenished with wine from the next vintage. The structure of wine from the Santa Cruz Mountains lends itself to this proven technique much like mashing together multiple songs to create one harmonious melody. Winemaker, Gary Robinson, wanted to create a showpiece of the Santa Cruz Mountains that highlights the aging potential of our AVA by reserving two barrels from each year for the “Mashup”.
