The Hawks View Vineyard was planted by the Benzinger family from Glenn Ellen fame in 1989. It has provided high-quality fruit to many prominent Oregon Vintners for 30 years.
In 2003, Jack Kemp purchased the vineyard to grow grapes that would eventually produce some of the finest wine in the Pacific Northwest. Jack was a prominent banker and philanthropist. A life long Oregonian, he was driven by a vision that combined operating a world-class winemaking facility and hosting friends and family…
After Jack’s purchase of the property, the acreage under vine doubled, and currently supplies all of the Winery’s Pinot noir and Chardonnay needs, as well as supplying several other prominent wineries in the area.
The Hawks View winery and tasting room were completed in 2008 and opened to the public in 2009. The estate became one of the great loves of Jack’s life. After Jack’s untimely passing, his wife Willie and son A.J. carried on his vision. Always a believer in excellence above all else, Jack relished every opportunity to share the property’s beauty and the romance of winemaking.
