Harbes Family Farm – Mattituck

The Harbes have been farming on Long Island for over 13 generations and over the years have evolved into a North Fork destination where families can enjoy anything from our fresh picked corn to our famous pig races to our award-winning wines. At Harbes Family Farm we strive to provide families with meaningful and wholesome experiences that the whole family can enjoy together. Our Mattituck Farm at 715 Sound Avenue, Mattituck, is open May-October.

You can’t miss Harbes Barnyard Adventure when you visit! At this 8-acre family-friendly attraction, you’ll discover hands-on learning experiences including farm animals and chicken and bee observatories. There are also fun and games for all ages such as our Gnome Hedge Maze, trike track, Jumbo Jumpers bounce pillows, a sports zone with baseball, football, and basketball tossing games, “Lil’ Farmers PlayLand” geared toward preschoolers, a musical chicken show, and so much more. Weekends, holidays, and summer Fridays we offer pig races, singing hayride tours and hosted interactive activities.

Our main Mattituck location includes Harbes Vineyard. As the North Fork’s first certified sustainable vineyard, we’re dedicated to ensuring maximum quality in all our estate wines. With our 5 acres of vines, we have handcrafted award-winning wines for the past 12 years and we’re excited to share them with you! Our wine is only available in our Wine Barn. The Wine Barn, which was renovated from a rustic 100 year-old potato barn, offers wines for tasting or by the glass or bottle. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will introduce you to our family of wines and help you pick your favorite!

Our farms on the North Fork grow the finest fruits and vegetables available and we offer them at our Farmstand. In season you’ll discover Harbes fresh picked super-sweet gourmet corn, delicious heirloom tomatoes, and super-sweet watermelon. Harbes Orchard supplies fresh picked peaches, donut peaches, nectarines and a selection of apples. During Autumn we have a wide selection of pumpkins and gourds. If you prefer you can also pick them right off the vine at one of our Fall “u-pick” locations.

You’ll also discover some of the North Fork’s most delectable treats! Harbes Farmstand offers our delicious roasted gourmet super-sweet corn, fresh made apple cider donuts, kettle corn, tomato mozzarella paninis, freshly squeezed lemonade, our own refreshing ice cream in seasonal flavors (strawberry, corn, peach, pumpkin), hot dogs, and much more! We also offer Hampton Coffee Co. coffee, baked goods, and fresh pies to tempt you.

During the season Harbes Family Farm hosts lots of great festivals! Most of our festivals celebrate the harvest of our own fresh fruits & vegetables and have become a popular yearly tradition for guests. Springtime features our Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Festivals. Summer brings the arrival of our Sweet Corn, Tomato, Peach & Watermelon Festivals. In the fall, Harbes Family Farm hosts the areas finest Fall Festivals featuring pumpkin picking, corn mazes, hayrides and much more! A special Pumpkin Festival heralds the opening of our Barnyard Pumpkin Patch every year at the end of September. All festivals can be found among our events on our Facebook page.
