Who are the winemakers? Well, that’s us-Russ Feist and Gary Hustad, along with our wives Marlene and Sue. Our story, too, is a simple one.

It all started with our love for wine. Then, we both started making wine at home-first to see if we could and later to meet the demand we had created among our family and friends. Our quantities just kept growing.

In 2007, Barili Cellars was born with the winery’s first commercial purchase of grapes. Marlene and Russ were among the original owners. Sue and Gary joined the team in December 2011. And, we still get help from Steve and Dana Trabun, who helped get us started.

What’s our wine-making philosophy? Start with excellent grapes, picked at just the right time to provide the perfect combination of sugar and acidity. Process them with care. And then wait to ensure optimal results that meet our standards-and yours.
