Mike began brewing in Kansas City, MO. at the Power Plant Brewery in 2000, but his career really took off when he left to become a brewer at Boulevard Brewing Co. in 2002. He was at Boulevard for six years when his growing passion for brewing lead him to Port/The Lost Abbey in San Marcos, CA. There, he became head brewer for over four years. While at Port Brewing/The Lost Abbey, Mike created the Mongo Double IPA, which is still currently in production.
Mike left Port/The Lost Abbey to consult the opening of, and become head brewer at Mason Ale Works in Oceanside, CA. There, Mike developed most of Mason’s original recipes (Jambi/Cash/Charlie Hustle), which are all still in production.
