Zeeland’s first brewery Tripel Root will be opening a production facility in Holland Township.
The township’s Board of Trustees approved microbrewery and small wine maker manufacturer licenses for Tripel Root at 2262 112th Ave., Suite 30, at its Thursday, April 21, meeting.
The board approved the applications with a 6-0 vote. Trustee Russell Te Slaa was absent.
Their current license in Zeeland allows them to brew there and to bring in beer to sell at the facility — but they can’t distribute.
“The only way for us to expand is to get a manufacturer’s license,” Nate Gentry said at the meeting.
The licenses will allow Tripel Root to brew up to 30,000 barrels of beer annually and produce up to 50,000 gallons of wine annually. In his application, Nate Gentry said he’d be producing beer, wine and cider at the Holland Township facility.
