OUR STORY

GearTooth AleWerks, based in San Jose California, is a family-run business owned by Jay and Kit Ganz. After spending many years working for tech companies, Jay decided it was time to pursue his passion and take a leap into craft beer. He honed his skills through years of home brewing before venturing out on his own commercially. He has also received formal training from the Siebel Institute, a world renowned professional brewing school.

Kit has spent many years in the wine industry as both a tasting room manager and event planner, skills that will serve her well as our business grows. She is also an excellent cook and enjoys preparing gourmet meals.

Their adult sons Justin and James also assist with the business. Justin has a business degree and has been working in sales and promotion of the brewery. James, with his vast craft beer knowledge, and connections in the Bay Area craft beer scene, is a real asset in evangelizing our beer throughout the area. The roles of both sons will no doubt increase as the business grows.
