Our valley contains over 80 different crops, barley is planted as a cover crop and a rotational crop. The value it provides our growers for their overall farm plan is immense! Barley is known as a hero crop – there is both a market for it and it is good for farms. For our growers, barley fits nicely into their overall farm plan and they receive the benefits or helping their soil health, while being able to sell malting quality barley at a premium. When our growers plant barley they are also investing in the future crops planted on that land!
