Description

We are committed to caring for mother nature from grape to bottle. Our goal is to protect and preserve the land. In doing this, we have implemented and pioneered many practices that are unique to us in this region. Some of these techniques include root pruning, native and naturalized cover crops, limiting the use of chemical repellents and conventional insecticides, and hand harvesting. Our vineyard manager, Cyrus Parseghian, started working in the vineyard at 15 years old. Also referred to as the “specificity of place,” terroir is an all encompassing term describing the elements and conditions in which wine is produced (soil composition, latitude, elevation, sunlight, water, climate). Being in upstate New York, the environment and climate can change daily. One year may be warm and mild, the next cold and rainy. We let our fruits embrace the changing moods of the vineyard and hope that our wines reflect the remarkable terroir. Every vintage tells its own story. We believe in authenticity and strive to emulate the raw and distinct characteristics of each harvest within our wines. Capturing these characteristics is guided by the terroir and the winemaker’s instinct. Our winemaker, Matt Denci, carefully observes and guides the wines, resulting in a collection of vintages where each glass tells a unique story, an experience from that particular harvest.
