Description

Located in one of the oldest wine growing regions in the country, Milea Estate Vineyard is in the heart of the fertile Hudson Valley, only 80 miles north of New York City. The estate is nestled among the beautiful rolling hills to the east of the Hudson River and surrounded by streams, horse pastures, dairies, orchards and other vineyards – a rural bounty that places the Hudson Valley at the center of the nation’s most exciting and diverse farm to table movement.

The soils, climate, and topography of the Hudson Valley are perfectly suited for fruit production, with the first vineyards in the region dating back to 1677. In 1984, Barry Milea and his father bought part of the Rymph Family Farm, a property that Barry fell in love with and dreamed of returning to its farming origins.

In the summer of 2015, after years of research and experimentation with the land, Barry Milea, Ed Evans and Bruce Tripp formed Milea Estate Vineyard. The first crush in autumn of 2015 resulted in award-winning wines, and Barry added adjoining land to the property in early 2016 for a 98-acre estate with some of the best soil and most beautiful landscapes in the country.

Milea Estate Vineyard consistently produces crisp, balanced and approachable wines that pair elegantly with food and are best shared with friends and family. A tasting room is planned for early 2017, with an event space soon to follow. Visit the vineyard to indulge in award-winning wines and the picturesque countryside that Milea Farm is proud to help cultivate.
