Description

Fifty-third Winery & Vineyard is located in Louisa County Virginia, nestled amongst rolling hills in a traditional farming community. The estate was licensed as the 53rd farm winery in Virginia, July of 1999 when we were formerly known as Cooper Vineyards. In July of 2015 the winery was sold to Dave and Susan Drillock who have since made it their personal mission to craft quality Virginia wines that express the uniqueness of the Virginia terrior.

Currently we are tending two vineyards, the 53rd Vineyard located in Louisa County Virginia and the Simmons Gap Vineyard located in Free Union Virginia. The 53rd Vineyard site has 20 acres in production including: Albarino, Chardonel, Viognier, Vidal Blanc, Chambourcin, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Norton. The Simmons Gap site has 10 acres in production including: Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Our annual case production fluctuates around 4500, and currently we have one of the largest wine clubs in the state of Virginia with over 900 members!

Chill, Relax and Enjoy at our site in Louisa, Virginia and be sure to check out our Instagram and Facebook pages to stay in the know!

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on our covered patio overlooking the vineyard! An outdoor tasting bar is provided so that you can enjoy your wine tasting with your canine companion! For health and safety concerns we prohibit dogs from entering into the Tasting Room and Pavilion.
