Wood Family Vineyards

Deep red and barely translucent, this wine looks like a jar of shiny boysenberry jam. Classic cab aromas of cassis are accompanied by high notes of exotic flowers and low notes reminiscent of fallen leaves on a forest floor. Pencil lead and wood shavings add to the woodsy aromas and black pepper adds a spice component. The palate explodes in your mouth with unsweetened red fruits of currant and cranberry. Moderate alcohol, acid, and tannin create a perfectly balanced structure. The finish continues with the tart red fruits from the attack and gives way to new oak in the return.
