Jeff started making hard cider in his dorm room at the U of M almost 30 years ago. The first batch didn’t turn out that well, but he kept at it, updating recipes and never compromising the quality of ingredients.
Urban Forage uses those same recipes, and continues to make products from local fruit without compromising the final quality of our wines and ciders.
Each summer and fall, we pick apples, pears, plums and cherries off of local residents’ fruit trees and from local orchards with permission of the landowners. We also harvest rhubarb, dandelions, hops and other flowers in season if they are offered to us.
