We have a love for good wine. Our tastes drew us to the hillsides above St. Helena. This just happened to be the first sub-appellation in the Napa Valley known as Howell Mountain. We believe the flavors from the fruit grown in the terroir of Howell Mountain are simply some of the best in the world. We found ourselves migrating to that area and eventually decided to lay roots here, and went into competition to buy a piece of that hillside with an exposure to the sun from sunrise to sunset. While the property has been in development, we have been buying fruit from a local grower with the same soil profiles as we found on our property. Our process started in 2009 with our first vintage, a Howell Mountain cabernet sauvignon. As with all our vintages, we use 100% new French oak barrels, and age the wine 22 to 24 months. The wine then rests gently in the bottle for another year.
