HB Family Vineyard is a tiny 1.5 acre vineyard located in the heart of Sonoma Valley on Old Winery Road. This historic land is the site of the iconic Haraszthy Vineyard where Agoston Haraszthy, often referred to as the “Father of California Viticulture” or the “Father of Modern Winemaking in California”, planted his first California vineyard in 1856. Haraszthy was the founder of the Buena Vista Vineyard in Sonoma, California, and an early and important writer on California wine and viticulture. This pioneer winemaker understood the merits of this loamy and cobbled soil, locally known as huachica, and the micro-climate of this cool pocket nestled in the Sonoma Valley AVA (American Viticulture Area).
