Construction and Renovation

When searching for a space for the brewery venture, Kenny, Annie & Chris wanted a space of dramatic architectural character and enough warmth to give the space more of an all-inclusive community anchor. Originally built in 1947 as a Colonial Grocery Store, 5104 Colley Ave. has seen many lives over the years including an employment & training center, a Dutch bulb importer and a church.

The Elation space is striking due to its almost 90’ bowstring trusses providing a clear structural span for the entire space. The heart of the space and the visual anchor is the curved bar and beam fan structure above the bar. Upstage of the bar are a pair of 12’ tall serving tanks & windows into the brewery so our customers can see and interact with other around our curved bar, as well as seeing the stainless-steel tanks in the brewery.

Where possible reclaimed materials were used in the space. Most notably are 400+ year old beams from the demolished Suffolk Peanut building to build the main bar, the pizza bar & two 16’ long custom community tables. Other tables are made from reclaimed bowling alley lane wood.
