A modern mom and pop style nano-brewery focusing on culinary inspired small batch ales. Located in the heart of Downtown Lindenhurst, 27A is owned and operated by husband and wife duo, Ryan and Melissa, both born and raised in Lindenhurst.
The inception of 27A came from a combination of Ryan’s brewing experience (home brewing, turned commercial packaging, then into commercial brewing), Melissa’s experience in the fashion industry, a couple of business degrees, and a dream to own their own business.
Set in a 130 year old building that was home to Benkert’s Meat Market for 70+ years, all brewing is done on site in small 100 gallon batches. The unique use of a house blend Kveik Yeast for warm fermentation brings a bright and fruity esters to the beers.
The tasting room displays the rich history of Lindenhurst’s past, walls adorned with artifacts found inside the building, as well as pictures and paraphernalia gifted by the Benkert family. The collection of live plants, subtle nods to their favorite musicians and artists, mixed in with the pieces of history, 27A feels more like you’re enjoying a beer inside Ryan and Melissa’s living room rather than a traditional brewery.
