Plezant – Trappist Single
This one reaches way back into the esoteric vaults of Belgian ales rooted deeply within stories untold… most likely. Rumored to be brewed by, for, and only consumed by, a particular group of Monks located in the Belgian town of Malle. Knowing full well none of us have ever had this beer, brewing it to what we think it might be like, has been quite the process.
Brewed with 100% Pilsner malt, Saaz hops, and open fermented with an expressive Trappist Ale strain also rumored to be shared by multiple Belgian breweries, the drinkability and complexity derived from such a simple list of ingredients and our process is what really ties the room together here.
We notice impressions of coriander, pink peppercorn, and an orange pith herbal character. Bone dry, fluffy white head, and much like the other beers we love, this one is firmly at home in the session beer category. 4.25% ABV and on for draft pours at all locations.
