In 1500, our 11th great-grandfather Berend Brauer, was a brewmaster in Einbeck, Germany. 9 generations of fellow Brauer’s continued the tradition until 1850.
During that time, Martin Luther became very fond of this Brauer brewed German beer and became his favorite. Although, Martin Luther preferred his own homebrewed beer to commercial beers.
To drink his fine homemade brews, he had a large mug that had three rings on it. Each individual ring stood for The 10 Commandments, The Creed and The Lord’s Prayer. Boasting that he could encompass all three with ease while drinking his homebrewed beers.
