WASTEWATER

• Much of the high strength wastewater that is generated during the brewing process is side-streamed and hauled to a large local treatment plant that needs the higher strength wastewater in their process. This removes the wastewater from the smaller Newington treatment plant and assists with pollution control.
• The wastewater that does go down the drain to the Newington treatment plant is pH adjusted to assist with the wastewater processing.
• During packaging, cans are rinsed with ionized air, instead of water. This process saves thousands of gallons of fresh water.
