The addition of hand-crafted beer was a natural progression in our family business, which started out over 30 years ago. Don & Nancy Kucera ran a dairy operation which peaked at a one time production of milking 135 head of cows. Distribution of Grade A Raw Milk to outlying areas included Medford, Bend, and Lakeview.
In 1987, the Kuceras began a small pizza business in the Keno area. They moved that small pizza business to Klamath Falls in early 1988.
Rod Kucera, the son of Don & Nancy, began investigating the micro-brew business in 1995. He then devoted all of 1996 to converting the former dairy into a brewery, utilizing much of the dairy equipment and dairy hardware.
This leads us to an exciting 1997, with the creation of Mia & Pia’s Pizzeria & Brewhouse. You can see much of the reclaimed dairy equipment and hardware in daily use at the pizzeria.
