The man who founded our Capital City. Holliday helped start the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe railroad in 1868. This powerful rail line ignited Topeka’s growth, helped establish the Topeka based Harvey Houses – the first franchised fine dining and hotel accommodations in the country, and put our city on the map as an important transportation hub.
