It all started with home-brewing systems in garages. The tasty brews created had such positive reviews from friends and family that it was apparent that a business could be built around this afternoon hobby. ​ Established on September 9th, 2009, Horsefly Brewing Company is now Montrose’s oldest brewery. Named after the Horsefly Peak, the company originated as a small tasting room located in the front office area of a storage unit rental space. Quickly Horsefly outgrew it’s space and moved to its current location on Main Street in September of 2010. Over the years expansions including adding a full service kitchen, brew room, walk in coolers, and more seating areas have occurred to further please our customers.
