Right after I graduated from college, I got a homebrew kit for my birthday. It didn’t take long for me to make the jump from brewing on our kitchen stove to an all-grain setup on a turkey fryer in the garage. As time went on, I continually added to my equipment and increased my knowledge about homebrewing.

In the early 2000s, I noticed that the group of friends that were into homebrewing (as well as myself) were not brewing as frequently as we used to. Moving into a house and starting a family all played into this drop off in brewing. To correct this, I got my core group of homebrewing friends together, and we started a homebrew club named Men Of Beer. The goal of this group was to ensure that we would get together at least 4 times a year to brew, and then everyone would get 5 gallons of beer out of the deal per brew session. It was an easy way to make sure we all had homebrew on tap.

Fast forward another decade and then some, I discovered a brewery in Oconomowoc was up for sale. I thought I would start a brewery when I retired from my day job in Information Technology, but the fact it was a turn-key system already to go was too much to pass up.
​
So, I hung up my day job and decided to pursue my passion as a career. With 20+ years under my belt as a homebrewer, I figured the time was right to make the change and do this professionally.
