Owner Chris started brewing beer in his garage years ago and never looked back. He, with a much assistance from his wife, family and friends, turned that brewing passion into Big Axe Brewing Company in downtown Nisswa. Chris grew up in Nisswa and went to elementary school across the Street. His passion for Nisswa and the BLA equals his passion for brewing beer which is why Nisswa was chosen as the location for Big Axe. Big Axe opened on May 14, 2015 as a taproom only. In 2017 Big Axe purchased and integrated the kitchen/restaurant. Now Big Axe specializes in producing a variety of full flavored, creative and freshly crafted brews and root beer and offer a fun, relaxing environment in which to enjoy them. The kitchen serves delicious soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches as well as Walleye and BBQ Ribs, Brisket and Chicken.
