Pizza and beer – what goes better with each other?!
WE started 12 years ago with a mission to make great pizza, but we’ve toyed with the idea of opening a brewery since the beginning.
Our history is restaurant/food truck life. We started with one food truck in DC serving up fresh, hot NY-style slices, and by 2017 built it up to four trucks. We used to regularly set up these food trucks at several startup breweries that were in the DC region – over the years we got to see their growth, their changes, and their operations at the grass roots level. Kernels of knowledge that we tucked away.
In 2014 we started a food truck concept in Seabrook, Washington and if it worked out after a year’s time, the vacation town would build us a restaurant. After a few years of operation, we began pouring Mill City Brew Works at Frontagers, our Seabrook restaurant. Now the weird cycle of destiny has come full circle and we were given a risky opportunity to take over Mill City Restaurant and Brewery from our old friend Mark. We gave the place a major face-lift and opened Camas Slices in January, 2020. Once we had the slices joint going (and overcame a major, major problem with our new ovens) we began the new life of a brewery and what an exciting journey it’s been already!
